If you mixed all genres together, what would be the outcome? What actual bands come closest?

>all genres

Noise, especially when you add noise into everything else.

Nice GET

Do you mean taking elements of every genre and putting them into one song, or making a mish-mash with a couple of seconds or a section from each genre? For the first one, some genres contradict each other, like death metal and easy listening. I don't know if that would work. There are also an almost incomprehensible number of subgenres, so it would be extremely difficult not only to find aspects of each one that don't contradict each other but also to go through each one in the first place. If you went with the second option, it wouldn't really be inventing anything new. It'd just be like you were switching through a ton of radio stations one after another or something (for an incredibly long time, since, like I said, there are a ton of subgenres).

That's not a GET you stupid newfag, it's just trips.

Pop music is a genre of popular music that originated in its modern form in the United States and United Kingdom during the mid-1950s.[4] The terms "popular music" and "pop music" are often used interchangeably, although the former describes all music that is popular and includes many styles. "Pop" and "rock" were roughly synonymous terms until the late 1960s, when they became increasingly differentiated from each other.

Although pop music is seen as just the singles charts, it is not the sum of all chart music. Pop music is eclectic, and often borrows elements from other styles such as urban, dance, rock, Latin, and country; nonetheless, there are core elements that define pop music. Identifying factors include generally short to medium-length songs written in a basic format (often the verse-chorus structure), as well as common use of repeated choruses, melodic tunes, and hooks.

tl;dr mixing existing styles while keeping basic song structures is pop music.

If you'd remove song structures you'd get something like free jazz or a weird noise wall. Like putting five different albums on at the same time.
