Let me necrobump this thread, because it occurs to me I have a question about music.
In the brony fandom, there's a thing that happens when musicians make songs … they use vocals from the show. But not at all as expected; it may or MAY NOT be in to tell or story, as per lyrics, but instead may be used as the music
The embedded link is prominent because the audio is almost exclusively vocal clips, cut and tortured into pure music with a decent backbeat added. all the video matches where the audio clip came from, which may or may not have been vocoded into irrecognizeability given the needs of that section of song.
Some other examples:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPka2FONU9c self described as 'glitch' – most of the vocals are in the right order, but the DJ keeps backspinning it
She's a Pony does this thing, too

So … is 'glitch' the genre? Does anime or harry potter music do that? Anybody else use source vocals to generate totally unrelated songs?
