Radio is irrelevant now. There are so many ways to find new music these days. You can follow links on the side of YouTube videos, you can look up genre tags on last.fm, RYM, Discogs, Bandcamp, etc, you can look up bands you like on eBay and check out albums by other bands that people list with the name of the artist you like in the description to try to get people to buy them, you can figure out if the members of bands you like have been in other bands, you can go through old Facebook event pages and find bands that bands you like toured with. There are infinite ways to find new music that nobody ever thinks of, and radio isn't a good one, at least in my opinion.
