c0399b (6) No.311175>>311185 >>311190 [Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

Hello and welcome to Conquest of Verona, a cyoa I'm starting up that will revolve around conquering this mythical land and our MC which we will create in this thread, and his adventure through the land of Verona. What we're going to accomplish in this start up thread is the choice of the MC's class, bonus equipment, his name and his looks. These choices will be decided based anons posting what they want, the agreement you come to together will decide the what shall occur. This will extend into the full cyoa, with me giving some suggestions each time.

First we have main character's class, our choices are positions of varying degrees of power and potential, from barbarian chief to undead commanding necromancer. Each class affects our army size, our reputation and wealth at the start of our adventure, a variety of traits is also tied to each class. Finally our class dictates what pool of bonus equipment we have at the start and magic power/potential, magic being very powerful in Verona. Character appearance and age will be decided by you guys, be as specific as you can from the head to toes. Can't forget the name either.

A brief description of our setting is also going to be important; The world of Verona is home to a wide variety of creatures, humans are the most prevalent intelligent beings that live there but creatures of all shapes and sizes roam the land, from goblins to the Sirrush, a giant desert dragon. Magic is an incredible force in this land, supremely difficult to learn and master and frowned upon by most, but its power has the potential to topple kingdoms. Starting off the land is stable, the supposed kingdom of Verona has halted expansion but also recession, the outlandish tribes have fallen into a state of peace and seclusion, uninterrupted by outside threats. The forest is peaceful, wildlife not more aggressive than usual, and the gates to unforeseen horrors are left closed. The journey to becoming the ruler of this land may upset the balance of any one of these things, so pick your enemies wisely. Our main character may not know everything about Verona but he'll knows this, Verona is not for the weak.

The other stuff

>Will there be waifus?

Yes but they're not guaranteed.

>Will there be monster boys?

Unless you count superhumans for some reason, no.

>Will there be monsters?

Yes, not all monsters are fuckable, explanations for why there are monsters and monster girls in the same world may pop up.

>Will this suck?

Maybe

Alright time to go over our class options

>Barbarian

The barbarian chief is a leader of a mighty trip of warrior men and women. You'll boast superior strength compared to the average man at the start of your adventure and the ability to use barbarian spells thanks to your augurs. Barbarian spells are weak compared to other spell casters, revolving around summoning ancestral spirits or minor nature magic. A large army of barbarians will help you with your conquest right out of the gate.

>Baron

The baron is the lord of a small fiefdom, one who answers only to the supposed king of Verona. You'll have a nice balance with your character and be trained in the use of weapons, however you lack magic completely, only being able to use the few court mages at your disposal. The royal arsenal provides an extra equipment choice in the next section. You must also however consider the other barons of the land, some far more powerful than you. High starting wealth.

>Necromancer

The necromancer's main advantage is his powerful magic, allowing him to construct a kingdom of undead. Undead monster girls have some advantages over humans but starting off you you'll have a limited supply. Be careful of others too as the threat of an undead uprising is only short of the terror caused by a potential demonic invasion.

>Demonologist

Has the power to unleash all of succubus kind on the world of Verona as well as powerful hellish magic for more personal use. Unlike the necromancer the demonologist doesn't start with a loyal following of the dead but just one demon you have a choice of(imp, lesser succubus, Alp and Dark Priest). Everyone will be against you with this route and it won't be easy making friends. Infernal magic being the most powerful magic school will greatly aid you should you last.

>Outlander

A human not of the land of Verona, despite physical similarities your power has been honed to something that rivals greater demons and your regenerative powers let you survive most wounds . The people of Verona are naturally weary to foreigners so your reputation will be low at the start, but nothing prevents you from forming a party with your high charisma. Magic also comes easier to you than most, potentially allowing you to flourish in that field should you chose.

>Druid

Tree huger class that is all about the mgs of the forest. The largest variety of troops at his disposal but dependent on location, Vernonans won't mind you at the start but it'll be hard recruiting humans to your army. Your tree fort in the forest is a good starting base of operations that rivals a couple strongholds. It'll take some effort to woo the creatures of the forest but the results pay off more quickly than most spellcasters, access to nature magic.

File (hide): 7196bf73b330567⋯.png (135.47 KB, 1835x1983, 1835:1983, classes.png) (h) (u)

>Archbishop

An archbishop of god is not a likely candidate for world conquest but here you are. Access to the church and its treasury means you can field a surprisingly large army, eventually the servants of god may come to aid you in your venture, should you prove worthy. Holy magic is decently powerful but its source may be fickle depending on how you act. The rest of the clergy may be your biggest enemy in this journey including the Archbishop of Verona, preferring their current positions although perhaps you can convince some otherwise.

>Enchanter

A bit more practical magician, the enchanter can create life not out of corpses, but from steel, wood or even the elements. Access to monster girls right at the start through elementals and living armour or swords. You're well liked among society with thanks to your skills. However your powers are largely material based, if you run out of iron or money you'll face troubling times. Elemental magic and enhancements are very powerful under the right conditions. Maybe you'll even be able to get the attention of elemental queens with your talents

>Cultist

The difference between the cultist and demonologist is that while the demonologist summons horrors from hell, the cultist summons horrors from the sea, and beyond. You start off with an entire town under your wing, although not everyone is armed. You're going to need offerings if the monsters of the deep will come fight by your side. Not as potentially powerful as the demonologist but the voice of the void has its own benefits. Access to powerful cosmic magic

>Admiral

Despite the ocean being home to a house of horrors that doesn't stop some from taking advantage of the high seas. Aquatic monster girls not in the realm of Lovecraftian horrors will be common here. You have access to a port as your starting fort, a massive galley with the most advanced weapons and a decently loyal crew. Magic is not available to you but your treasury is mightier than any other class.

>Hermit

A very powerful wizard who lives by his lonesome. Access a combination of spells all the others have, however the hermit is unable to summon companions. Start in a hut in the middle of nowhere, no one knows or cares who you are, if you are ever to gain an army or at least a follower you'll have to overcome what you've been your entire life. World domination is a bit of an odd choice for this class, perhaps there are other reasons for this motive.

Can we only pick 1?

What about a Necromaner Admiral?

Can MGs give birth to pure human boys? Say at an uneven ratio, like; 1 boy for any 9 MGs. That would give MGs tribes a kind of self-sufficiency, but does encourage girls to go looking; example; Lizardmen and Salamanders.

Also, are certain MGs attracted to certain characters, like; could the Baron court and gain a Dragongirl due to his wealth? Or a Wurmgirl for the Barbarian? ect

Will we have a rival? A Hero? Something along those lines, later on in the story?

Depends on how our mc acts, I find it funny you'd suggest a dragongirl would go after the baron for his money like some 3dpd :^)

Alright our class has been decided, we're going to be an admiral of the high seas.

Next it's time to choose equipment; Admiral options are as follows, you can only chose 3 max.

Scimitar: any cut from this weapon is guaranteed to remove a limb. Flame whip: grants fire resistance, can control when burning, can be used normally. Gauntlets of strength: High strength increase. Scale gloves: minor strength increase and incredibly large grip strength increase. Basilisk leather clothes: can turn to stone whenever you want, immune to slashing but vulnerable to smashing. Swim wear: Can traverse all liquids freely, provides a small amount of protection. Boots of jumping: a small strength bonus and ability to leap high into the air, eliminates fall damage if you land on them. Bottle of infinite air. No question here. The Netherlands during the renaissance were a small nation surrounded by enemies, yet were able to take on larger and more powerful nations thanks to its focus on money and trade. Also, a key component of the British Empire was its commercial power.

>Boots of jumping

Initially I was thinking this would just be useful for boarding actions, but I then made a realization. If we ever command an army, we can leap into the air to gauge the position and numbers of any troops on the battlefield that lack cover.

>Swim wear

Has uses at sea and along rivers, may also be useful to sneak into coastal towns.

>>311608

Well 5 gallons of molasses is about $26 usd. If we have a swimming pool, 10ft by 10ft, while being 6ft deep. It would cost us $22,440 to fill up our pool. This is ignoring the fact that molasses would be much more rare in this world and therefore more expensive and that we don't use usd for our currency.

Imagine: We could go to Hell and play in the lava with demons, splashing and giggling like children on the beach. During Endgame we could be in Hell doing the exact same stuff we do on Earth except with a different ship, a new crew formed of demons, fire elementals and sinners and instead of regular chanteys with flutes and accordions we'd be singing metal chanteys with drums and electric guitars. We could rescue a whole heap of island people after a volcanic eruption and look like a badass.

Alright we're going treasure map, swimwear and boots of jumping. This means our weapon will be a standard iron long sword and on our head will be a tricorne hat.

I got the template for our main character ready. For each section you can be as specific as you want, for example size; you can write 6'2" or "tall". For colour you can also just fill in what you want that colour to be, or just type "blue" or "fair skinned". Traits are extra stuff like missing eyes and things like that. This section will be a bit harder to come to a conclusion on, hopefully there will be enough anons that agree on one design.

Far better to "lay down" some ground rules now. Such as fuck only when your chores are done and/or on your off time.

Because if you say "no sex on ship" to MGs, they're going to fuck off with most of the fuckin' crew. And then our Admiral ain't cast off from the dock, let alone setting sail for the Seven Seas! A quickie ain't going to sink the ship!

But I do have to admit, hand holding maybe a step to fucking far! They wouldn't get any work done and it's supa lewd!

True. However that was because the crews were one gender and they hyped to see their families, spend time with whores or both.

Unless we're only going to have one gender on board the ships, then your arument is pretty flawed!

With males and females in the crew, law and order has got to be "laid" down.

I think the point of his post was that sailors are literally always working. No man alive would substitute 6 hours of sleep for sex; especially after working all day with maybe one break. Sailing wasn't fun, you work hard for shit pay while risking your life.

If it gets bad we just have to go back to Port once a week.

Oh yeah. I completely agree with you on that! If the crew is "fucking around", then nothing gets done! That why rules are needed.

>I think the point of his post was that sailors are literally always working.

True, for humans it was a very labour intense job; maintaining and sailing a ship etc.

I would just like to point out that with MGs becoming part of the crew. The work load may decrease, crew sizes for ships could be smaller or be the same with say work shift cycles, if say for example;

You can have Kikimoras to clean the ship, they'll do a better job at keeping the ship decks scrubbed, repair damaged sails ect. and can do it faster.

Or you have say some Minotaurs on board, which can help with the 'heavy lifting' and can be very helpful in boarding actions.

Or Sahuagin Marines! For both Sea and Land Combat! Or Lizardmen for beach assaults!

I'm not trying to be difficult here! I'm simply pointing out there is a lot of potential in this CYOA. And with a lot of stuff, there will be Pros and Cons. Unless the GM choose to have only human crew members. At least in the beginining. That will be the GM's choice.

>No man alive would substitute 6 hours of sleep for sex; especially after working all day with maybe one break.

True. Historial this is Very True. It made sense to have a male only crew. Men could perform at a higher rate then women due in no small part to their musclar structure. I'm not saying women couldn't, I'm just saying that men could on average do more with the same. In 'our' world though there isn't super strong MGs. It's no small leap of logic that smart leaders would try to get any advanage they could over their rivals. And they would have to deal with the disadvanages that came with them.

Simpily stating "it did happen in our world, so it shouldn't be in this one", isn't logical and is flawed by it's very nature.

But, we'll see what the GM decides to do and what options there are.

This isn't a pleasure cruise mate, we're pirate hunters in profession, it's better to have everyone ready in case shit hits the fan. We'd have to kill people and depending on OPs cannon, monsters literally can't do that or at least are hesitant to do so, which could be worse depending.

Regardless, we wait for OP.

Alright then, took a while but we're finally done creating our character. See you all tomorrow for when the full cyoa begins.

Can his full name be William O'Donovan? And Billy being his nick name?

Just calling 'im Billy seems blarsa and anti-climatic for an Admiral.

I think the whole theme of the character is that he's anticlimactic.

People expect a dashing man whose weathered storms; when in fact he's short, pale, and otherwise unassuming. We correct them when people make the mistake of us being just some short guy.

>I think the whole theme of the character is that he's anticlimactic.

We're going for goofy? Fair enough… what if he has a serious personality, but no one takes him seriously at first.

>Traits

He needs a big napoleonic era british admiral's hat to off set his short Napoleonian complex.

The Admiral has a handsome firstmate/captain. Whom anyone mistakes for Billy. He needs a really long posh name He has gynophobia and isn't all that bright.

Seconding this, but

>The Admiral has a handsome firstmate/captain. Whom anyone mistakes for Billy.

We're going full Fullmetal Alchemist now?

People will take him seriously enough when he tosses the first guy who calls him short overboard with an anchor tied to them.

>We're going full Fullmetal Alchemist now?

In for a penny, in for a pound. If we're going full goof, we'd better make it good.

>People will take him seriously enough when he tosses the first guy who calls him short overboard with an anchor tied to them.

Precisely. But there needs to be a reason for why that "first guy" becomes shark bait.
