Every game dev has been through the "master plan" phase. Where you make a giant plan for a game that has no holes in it, and it's going to be the best thing ever, and you keep adding to the design because you want it to be the best, but really you're just stalling because you're afraid to start the hard work of making it, and eventually you take that first step into making it and realize quickly your giant master plan didn't account for factor A, B, C, D, E, etc. and now you have to re-design large chunks of it but since you're so married to your idea and the prospect of re-doing so much of it is so daunting that you keep putting it off and usually never return to it. I think Sam has been in that phase for a few months now, possibly even a year or longer. If he'd been working on it all this time he'd have showing us SOMETHING by now. Some 3D models, a logo, a video of an early prototype. When you're making progress on a game you're always eager to show what you've done so far in order to get some feedback and motivation from people. The fact that he hasn't is very telling. It's sad to see him fall into this trap. For a guy with so many years of experience making content, he's sure taking the amateur approach. I had faith in him for a while but now I'm pretty certain we're not going to see anything. I think the fact that he has a ton of money from crypto and that he knows he peaked with World Peace has destroyed a lot of his motivation. Nothing to look forward to, nothing to gain. He's essentially retired.
