This topic is especially relevant to your waifu's translation, but also to the fandom surrounding your waifu.

Have you ever tried to research your waifu's speech patterns in her native language? And by that I mean how she speaks and if she has any quirks.

If so, is her canonical language successfully translated to the languages you speak?

Are her native and foreign fanbases aware of her canonical language?

Youmu's canonical language is all over the place:

Humble and formal among the people she respects.

Sometimes a bit rude among friends and foes.

And once in a while also a bit childish.

But one aspect that stands out:

Contrary to popular belief she uses a lot of female language, be it interjections like "ara" and "maa" or particles like "wa", "kashira" and "nano".

Even the Japanese fandom completely ignores the latter aspect. I don't know of a single doujinshi that had her use any of those feminine terms.

A few even mentioned it in the foreword or afterword and yet the artists still decided that it seems too out of character.

But considering that Yuyuko was the only woman around Youmu for most of her life, it shouldn't even be that surprising.

It's also an aspect that's completely lost in the translation.

My waifu's language is entirely unknown to me or any other human, though I both understand and relate to their native manner of communication in a number of ways.

The way my waifu communicates is mostly formal, and relative to those being spoken to. However, there is a sacred sense of oneself only disclosed to very few close individuals. Such that no one knows you unless you explicitly want them to. It is not so much a language thing, but a culture thing in that regard. My waifu, for example, woudln't let me in to that inner world if I wasn't welcome, which, if that were the case, I would be forced to interpret it as the ultimate form of rejection, and would have to leave.

As far as I can tell, the main spoken and written language in the world of Remnant is English. Not only do all the characters speak it, but almost all written text observed in the world is in English. So there really isn't any sort of language barrier between me and her.

Ruby's speaking style is pretty informal and casual. She's very laid back, and in some cases it can be a bit childish, though not to an extreme degree. She's actually had difficulty communicating with characters like Winter or Weiss, who speak in a much more heavily formal manner. The singular instance we saw of her handwriting was legible but somewhat rough and kind of sloppy.

I don't know if foreign fanbases, especially the Japanese, are aware that she primarily speaks English. I think most of them probably know. I mean, it was marketed as an American show when it got brought over, and I don't believe they changed too much of the English text in the localization. The domestic fanbase here in the states hasn't really batted an eye at it, aside from occasionally pondering why English is the main language in a world ostensibly different from ours Personally I believe it's either because it's a post-apocalyptic Earth or a forgotten Earth colony, but that's a completely different topic. I should probably stop here before I start sperging about it.
