What are some books you've had trouble finding.
I've looked everywhere for a complete collection of Arabian Nights, but can only find compilations. Don't suppose anyone knows where to find it?

are you serious?
i've found a couple of those in the last weeks just browsing used book stores.
of course what you find in used book stores is always somewhat a matter of luck.
but lately i've been looking for some old books printed in the 1920'ies, never reprinted. luckily my city's libraries has copies. but they don't let them leave the building so…

What OP is probably implying is file sharing ebooks. As per:
>>12970
there seems to be a dead zone between 1900 through 1950 of scanned works. I happen to be a Frederick Prokosch aficionado (big author in the 1930s), but such writers are unknown to the twenty first century all digital generation. Other more contemporary authors are hard core about IP protection. L Neil Smith's works are surprisingly difficult to find in pirated form. Then there's big name organizations with the dosh to clamp down (Games Workshop Black Library) who ought to be impossible to find in any unlicensed form. Impossible that is, unless they up and piss off the wrong people.
Which, you know, GW pissed off the wrong people.
Anyway, the ebook file sharing scene is what it is.
Physical copies are a whole different story. We live in a unique time boasting an overwhelming glut in the used book market. Combine this with conglomerate Internet retailers that will put you in touch with almost every book store on Earth? I don't understand how someone can fail find all they could ever want if it was published somewhere via a mechanical printing press. Unless you are looking for an original scribe copy of the dead sea scrolls, or a collectors first edition signed in the authors own blood. Availability ain't the limitation here, if it exists. It's the price that tends to the unreal.
As for myself, I loves me my three dollar---plus free shipping and handling—dog eared used copy of some dead author's work that hasn't seen a publisher's shadow since 1940.

now it makes sense.

I don't think there is such a thing as a "complete collection" of Arabian Nights. There are several different versions that contain different stories from many different writers. Technically the story is never supposed to end.

wouldn't it as if to say that there are new grimm fairytales coming out every year?

No. The Grimms' Fairy Tales were written by the Brothers Grimm. Arabian Nights was made by number of anonymous authors, and it was written over a period of centuries.

the grimms didn't write a thing. they collected stories from german oral tradition, which i guess you could call a number of anonymous authors.

I've had trouble finding a German or English translation of Rafal Ganowicz, Condotierzy.

I haven't bothered to search the filesharing sites. If you have, and it's not out there, then it's not out there.
Both the original and translations are all over the online conglomerate retail sites. I believe I saw one offer for a kindle ebook as well. No joy with my local area libraries, but the nearest major metropolitan area library system holds four English translation copies. I didn't bother checking in with any nearby college or university systems. It's not unlikely they have copies as well.
If you can't afford to purchase a used copy online, go find a major city within reasonable travel distance and check their system. Ditto universities. You probably won't be able to check it out of those libraries, but you could examine it in house. If you're feeling really nice, find a shady corner somewhere and take cell phone photos of the pages. These you can hand over (here or elsewhere) to someone knowledgeable so as to assemble it into a proper ebook.

I usually go to archive.org because then i can get those nice fonts and original covers, etc, instead of a badly formatted ebook with just the title and text.
