If freedom has prerequisites it's definitively not freedom. Freedom is inherently without value. It is the absence of chains. It comes with nothing. Whatever you're talking about has baggage so it must, therefore, not be freedom.

A free man can, in fact, just sit back and expect things, complain, be morose or whatever else. That is what being free means. The freedom to be miserable if he so chooses. There is no balance, only freedom.

It does not mean that your actions will not have consequences. Opposite would be true, in fact - having no consequences of your decisions and actions means lack of freedom. Demanding to protect you from your decisions has nothing to do with freedom, specially the freedom of those who your demands are addressed.
