What are some of the most outlandish tax laws in existence?

 No.79214

>Don't worry, we have a tax on Alcohol as well

 No.79215

>most outlandish tax laws

Probably the one that lets them take your money even when you don't give them permission. Absolutely bizarre.

All of them.

You forgot the social contract

 No.79234

>>79225

You mean I forgot to sign it. I wanted to read through it all before agreeing to it, but I can't remember where I put the damn thing. Oh well.

Property tax is number one. It is like a perpetual rent. You can't even go live like a hermit on your own land, because you at least need to make enough to send the county a check each year. Plus each time you build a structure, even if it is just another little chicken coop or storage shed, it raised your property tax even more. Same land but more money you owe just because more structures. BULLSHIT!!!

climate tax- you have to pay it if you go to seaside or mountainside

 No.79251

Germany still has a tax on sparkling wine. It was introduced to finance the german imperial war fleet. A fleet wich hasn’t existed for ~100 years.

 No.79255

>>79251

Sounds like Germany needs to build a fucking imperial war fleet.

>>79255

You mean something like this?

 No.79267

>>79238

So they signed it, did they? Well, that's irrelevant now. Even assuming that they could agree to such a thing on my behalf, that would only have had validity for as long as I was not able to meaningfully agree to it myself. I'm an adult now, so if society wants me to still be bound by this contract then they'll need to come and make a deal with me.

Of course, that won't ever happen, because the social contract is just a fiction used by the state to justify the way they rob and kill with impunity. It's not a real contract.

 No.79271

>>79267

But anon, if you don't want to accept the social contract, then just go live in a forest or in Somalia.

 No.79285

>>79257

Well I mean that's the Chinese strategy is giving every civilian a gun/uniform and claiming they're part of the military so as to get them to surrender and subsequently use up the enemy resources as PoWs.

 No.79298

>>79267

You are the property of the state.

 No.79303

>>79271

Why would it be necessary to move? Agreeing to the social contract was never stated as a condition for me to be able to live where I do. Where is this social contract, anyway? Do I go down to my local library to get a copy? You can't seriously expect a person to sign their life away without even knowing what they're agreeing to, so surely the state would make copies of the contract available to people somehow.

>>79298

As much as I hate it, this is the most accurate way to describe the current state of affairs. With that said, what's the point in pushing the idea of a social contract? When I switch on a light or open my fridge, I don't pretend like it matters whether it consented or not - I just use it. That's how everyone treats property. So why bother with an imaginary social contract? It's a stopgap measure to try and salvage a little bit of legitimacy for the state, because otherwise more people would stop and think about how fucked up it is to be treating literally every single person on the planet like that.

 No.79722

Where I'm from the General Excise tax is abused so much.

 No.79729

>>79239

The US was concieved as a communist country; article one, section eight, clause eight, has the US government distributing building instructions for the means of production openly, with only a slight delay.

"America," otoh, is two continents, not a state.

 No.80183

>>79729

so why do ancaps refer to founding fathers as to libertarians?

 No.80186

>>79729

Foregoing the fact that the revolution was orchestrated by a group of landowners to protect their business interests and protest unfair taxation:

>article 1 section 8 clause

Of what document you nigger? I checked the constitution and the articles of confederation and there's nothing in either about building templates. You're full of shit stop projecting your communism on the fathers.

 No.80190

>>80186

>If I lie my ass off, I can pretend there's no patent office!

Well, okay, but it doesn't sound like a successful strategy.

>so why do ancaps refer to founding fathers as to libertarians?

Well, it's historically meant socialist. Despite several socialist aspects (full jury trial, for instance), it probably doesn't count as either, though… just a republic, now fallen.

 No.80252

>>80190

Oh yeah the founding fathers were really crazy about patent law. That's why there's references to patents all over the important historical documents such as the declaration of independence and the constitution, and patenting wasnt relegeted rather absentmindedly to a subcommittee in 1790. No it took center stage. The founding fathers were so socialist they also had a centrally planned economy in addition to issuing madatory building templates.

 No.80303

>>80252

>That's why the tech library is next to the post office

…as opposed to the guarantee of a non-government accuser, or the ability to appeal to twelve people to mediate with mutual right through further appeal.

So… communism publishing library (patent), ansocialist dispute resolution (jury), succdem shipping (postal).

Of these, the Post Office worries me the most…

I just drove 200 km to luxembourg and back to fill up gas for less than I would in germany.

Ironicly this tax was put in place to make people burn less fuel.

If road tax was actualy used for infrastructure it would at least make some sense, but it isn´t.

In terms of sheer size you've got Income Tax, VAT/Sales Tax, Council Tax/Land Tax, Fuel Duty/Road Tax…

It's basically a way to price the poor out of security and out of living standards.
