How do we meme libertarianism into the white house? We've almost made it once.

 No.70189

Politics is a rigged game and will get you nowhere. Focus on improving your own life, and if you have time, create the conditions and means for agorism.

 No.70192

This. The one single non-faggy thing that Gandhi said was that you should be the change you want to be in the world.

Agreed. Basically this election has taught me that.

 No.70234

You want to meme Libertarianism into the White House? The Libertarian Party would need to be purged of Liberals and DUDE WEED LMAO Lolbertarians. Then your only hope is to pick a likeable Libertarian Conservative so that you can draw in both Moderates and Republicans.

 No.70235

>>70189

The hardest thing to accept and to get across is how slow societal change is. It may take way past our lifetimes to invoke the changes we want. Judging our methodology by current experience doesn't suffice. It really is best to focus on providing the future conditions for the next wave. I'm not implying some dialectic is inevitable. We could still be completely on the wrong path theoretically. Politics is the least consistent area we could be focusing on. It's a waste of time in the long term.

This is actually the best option, so who are the candidates on our short list for 2020?

Tom Woods?

Has he ever thought about it?

Adam Kokesh

He could, but I don't think he'd want to tbh. Tom seems like his first motivation is to have time for his family and a relatively stress-free life, which is why he makes his living podcasting an hour every couple days.

>give a man a bank, and he can rob the world

>The super-rich especially appreciate racism because the artificial divides it creates are a convenient distraction from the genuine divides between the super-rich and the rest of us.

>muh olympics deserve to have bad ratings because tribalism

>pro open borders

The man's a crypto-commie and useless to the cause of liberty. The fact that he still associates himself with the LP instead of getting as far away as possible as most sensible libertarians have should have tipped you off to that.

 No.78397

>>78385

Bob Murphy as VP.

 No.78404

>>78385 (myself)

The post was more of a joke, and it's in reference to one episode, where the guest proposed the idea to Tom, and he politely rejected it.

I think the best possibility, would be for Rand Paul, to learn from the mistakes he did in the 2016 election, start creating a name for himself, as a principled libertarian constitutionalists, and have a 2020 campaign that is more aggressive than Trump's, though if an economic crash comes before the election, and it will most like will, then we will most likely have a Democrat Socialist in the white house.

>>78397

ContraKrugman live from the white house

 No.78427

>>78396

And none of that is part of his official platform. He's just trying to tear down the American Empire and put power back in the hands of the states, which is a huge step in the right direction.

 No.78429

>>78427

Why does it matter whether or not it's part of his "official platform?" He still believes this nonsense, it's on the front page of his Twitter feed for God's sake. Even if it's not a talking point he'll bring up in debates those beliefs are still going to influence his decisions. If he called capitalism an evil, immoral philosophy on his Twatter feed, would you still be okay with that just because he didn't list it on his "official platform?" Libertine hippie degenerates are still libertine hippie degenerates, whether or not they are being honest about their nature.

 No.78432

>>78429

You'd be hard pressed to find an LP member that doesn't believe that shit at this point. At least he's willing to leave it at the door.

>tfw you realize Mises and Rothbard hate modern banks and think they're a pyramid scheme

>tfw you realize that blacks are the disposable population that the Illuminati/Jews/crony capitalists/whatever you want to call the people at the top use to justify continued investment in the prison industrial complex

>tfw you realize that the Olympics are not entitled to high ratings simply by virtue of existing and being expensive (and would not continue to exist were it not for governments and politics)

>tfw you realize that people want to live with other people like them, and immigrants feel the same way about moving into your neighborhood that you would feel about moving into an immigrant neighborhood, and the only reason they're in this country in the first place is because your government did such a great job at shitting up their country

He's an anarchist railing about the abuses of the state, and you're a cryptofascist whining about why you need a state to protect your individual interests, apparently blind to the fact that the state will never protect your interests unless you're one of the fraction of a percent running the show.

 No.78476

Personally, I thought Rand would work better in the Senate rather than president.

 No.78478

>>78432

Which just goes back to my original point: why support the LP at all? Especially if you're trying to support a "principled" candidate? All sensible Libertarians have left the LP and its crypto-lefty virtue signalling, either to join the Repubs like the Pauls have or to be completely independent.

If you can point to someone with a similar platform (immediate and complete dissolution of the United States federal government) who isn't as big of a fag, you'll have convinced me not to support Kokesh's big for the oval office.
