Just saw it, and I think it's /liberty as fuck. The main villians were a salvage crew contracted by New York City to clean up alien technology lying around after the avengers saved the day, except they turned to crime after an executive order granted exclusive salvage rights to a government agency and Stark industries. Had they not been forced to start stealing and smuggling scraps from superhero fights to recoup the losses, they'd have continued as a legitimate salvage business and there'd have been no plot for the movie.

>the 134th sequel of some shitty superhero franchise activated my almonds so hard that i recognized fragments of my particular meme brand of a political ideology in it

How were you able to watch that garbage without puking in your mouth?

 No.70026

Beer. The flashback that set up the motivation for the antagonists was in the very beginning though, so it would have been hard to miss the fact that they were simply the victims of federal overreach and cronyism.

 No.70027

Even shitty movies can have tiny little pills of wisdom hidden in them, I guess. I still wouldn't willingly watch capeshit (at least not these days) but hopefully some of the people that watched this steamer put 2 and 2 together and realized that these "antagonists" were anything but.

I highly doubt the goldpill was intentional, but it was still funny to see one show up in a mainstream big budget movie.

Well said.

The best example of a shitty movie with great ideas in it was Demolition Man.

On the subject of movies, was Lord of War actually a good movie?

I liked it. Explained very well how proxy wars function, too.

I occasionally see people shitting on it because Nic Cage and "skurry gunz" narratives (the first is a fair criticism in a way because Cage is a terrible actor, the second is kind of a half-fair because yes guns are skurry they're supposed to be you fuckwit) but I honestly enjoyed it.

I liked Demolition Man though.

I never thought the guns r evil thing was that big in the film but more of political power plays. The only one doing guns r evil was that Interpol agent. Should this thread just be about movies with unintentional /liberty/ themes in them?

 No.70260

Why does anyone still expect anything good from the cesspit of corporatism that is Hollywood? It's well past the point where there's too much sand and very little specs of gold to sort from. Any tidbits of wisdom or liberty you can find in contemporary movies is either superficially paint by numbers or just accidental.
