They've been openly proposing things like this for decades. An example, (((Feinstein))) introduces a new AWB every year.
Now keeping an eye on these things is important and all, but they're not going to actually push for these things to go through. it's essentially just legislative virtue signaling. In reality, almost every serious piece of gun control has come into effect by being attached to something else, usually something that has no relation whatsoever to guns.
If you're a real smart cookie. you'll notice these scary sounding bills pop up coincidentally at the same time sales for scary salt weapons start to normalize back to pre sandy vagina levels. Can't have that now can we?
