I hate how trenches in video games are always only there to force the player to follow a predetermined route. You never actually get to repel an enemy attack from a firing position, then follow up with a counter attack. And most of the time they just seem to be a random hinderance, because even when position makes sense, the enemy always appears from random directions like if both of you were just clashing in a random place that just happens to have trenches.
