Hey /k/ommandos,I found my grandpa's scope today and I was curious if you guy could tell me some stuff about it. All I know is that it's a Wetzlar TEII x4 magnification scope. I don't know much about scopes so if you guys could tell me some stuff about it like the mounting system if it's still being used and the quality of the scope and such.

The mount is a typical high hook mount for K98 and derivatives.

Wetzlar isn't a brand name but a city name, the city in in the state of Hesse famously known for it's precision glassworks.

Sounds good so far. I was interested in getting a Mauser rifle anyway and I didn't really wanted to sell the scope. I guess Imma have to find a rifle that has the same mouting system.

Note that's I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a Mauser expert I've only book knowledge of them so it's completely possible I'm wrong, but this is what you should look for.

It's fine. I'm glad I found out some information about it,since the scope is in pretty good condition. The metal frame is a bit rusted ,it's original black finish chipped in small bits but the glass is clear and nice.
