So I want to get my first raifu, and I wanted to go with this company/gun if at all possible because my family is Polish…

So my first question is, is the gun itself worthwhile? Would I be better off getting a more easily accessible one?

Secondly, does anyone know if the company that makes these sells them in the US? I've seen a few articles here and there indicating that they are or are planning to sell in the US, but no prices or anything are up on their site, and web searches are turning up nothing useful.

Thanks in advance for any help you're able to provide.

Does it require anything special from the ATF to get? Contact the companies that are planning to sell for a rough ETA and price for it.

Also a first gun is like a first car, get something cheap and something you can afford to replace once you eventually break it, then move on to more expensive stuff.

I own several firearms already, and I like to think I take good care of them, so I'm not super worried about that; but then, I've never owned a rifle, as I said.

As for companies selling it, the only one is the one I linked in OP. I could contact them, I suppose. I still want to see if anyone here knows anything about this fun's performance first, though. That's the really important question. No use jumping through hoops to support a Polish company if the gun is shit.

They're still supplying the polish army. It'll be a good while until they're in the US as pistols.

Source? I believe you, but everything I read indicated they were going to open the market sometime in 2018.

good news anon! That thing has next to no sporting purpose (thanks congress) so it isn't going to get imported in rifle form. The best you can hope for is to buy a parts kit of it (minus the barrel and lower of course) and try to find parts that will work with it. So unless you've got some fancy licensing from the ATF you are never going to get a complete rifle from these guys unless they have a plant in the US to finish the rifles (like FN does with the SCARs)

Anon, why do you think the only foreign AKs we've been receiving have been rebuilds?

Shit like the sporting purpose requirement got put in place a few decades back to prevent competition with domestic industry.

Hm.

Well, I did see something about them wanting to open a plant in Texas for US-based sales.

Oh well. I guess I'll have to go with a US rifle, at least for now. Any suggestions for that, while we're here?

AR-15

Or you could wait until the MSBS is imported as a pistol and set aside the $200 for an SBR stamp.

This?

https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2018/02/13/new-polish-fb-radom-akberil-parts-hitting-the-us-market/

>"We are very excited to announce for the first time ever the famous Polish Military Small Arms Factory in Radom, Poland – Fabryka Broni has supplied the US market with brand new factory direct AK/Beryl parts and accessories! Arms of America, LLC is authorized to import and retail these parts direct to consumers in the USA. Atlantic Firearms has also been authorized by FB to supply and incorporate these items into their future offerings."

Sounds like you saw something like this and got your hopes up. It seems like they're just selling parts for now, sadly - still, you could always contact the company directly and ask.

Yeah, no go. Sorry, buddy. You could see about the ones that are approved if you still wanna go with that company, though. I've never seen any reviews on them so idk.

Probably gonna go with this, yeah. Nice and simple, and I can always get the Polish eagle engraved on it to make me feel better.

Any good AR-15 companies you'd recommend?

Just build one, m8. Also it really depends on your budget.

If you want something relatively cheap, get a build kit from PSA and an Aero lower. Also get a punch set.

Strelok, the gun shown on the page you linked is literally just the Polacks doing an ACR clone.

I wouldn't know, tbh. I'm rifle illiterate.

Last I had heard, they cancelled the whole shebang.
