Hello folks,

I've been shooting my rifle for a while now, but after every session the area above my eye feels sore. Today's session was particularly bad, and when I looked in the mirror afterwards I noticed I had acquired a bruise above my right eye. How can I reduce scope related discomfort/injuries while shooting? So far I've tried putting cotton padding over my eye, and this made matters somewhat more manageable, but it hardly seems like something an operator would do. Are there any techniques to mitigate these issues, or is it just something I have to tough out? Pic unrelated

Learn to control recoil and stop holding your scope a millimeter from your eye.

Move your head back or move your scope forward.

Is it some Chinese scope with piss poor eye relief?

So you're getting idiot eye. Keep your eye further back from the scope, fiddle with the focus if you have to.

It helps if you hold your rifle securely.

Also it sounds like you are using scopes with no padding. For those scopes dont put your eye on the actual scope, keep it a half inch back. Adjust the scope and you can see it perfectly a distance back bacause of where the image is focused.

Some scopes do have padding/sun shields… Get one of those if your scope cant be focused…

It's called not putting your eye on the scope, fucko.

Even cheapshit chink scopes have at least 3 inches of eye relief, try using it op
