Any reliable semi auto rifle, short barrel, preferably in a caliber 5.56 or larger. Bigger magazine the better. If possible I'd say grab a double stack 9mm semi auto pistol for back up/down time.

In high-density areas, which are most ideal for shootings, for obvious reasons, I would go with any type of explosive, such as pipe bombs, grenades, pressure-cooker bombs, etc., and/or gases like chlorine, mustard, or sarin, to be followed up with a 12-gauge shotgun, with your choice of buckshot or birdshot, and any sort of automatic weapon. For emergencies, use any 9mm pistol. And if you want to go out bigly, a suicide vest would work wonders.

In any other situation, any semi-auto rifle, preferably one chambered above 5.56mm, combined with a bolt-action scoped rifle, and a .41/.45 revolver will work.

Of course, this post is not to be taken seriously and is 100% fictional edge.

On other weapon that would be useful is a repeating high calibur air rifle. You can use it to ambush a cop and steal his service pistol, some ammo, and perhaps a shotgun or AR15. It tends to be quiter but it does make quite a bit of noise.

Schools are massive compounds anon, not small buildings. That is a nearly impossible task, considering students have the means to make exists if need be.(Example: Fire extinguisher through window) The only way you could possibly pull that off is with multiple shooters. Run over as many as possible while using the handgun to control people who are a threat near your vehicle, the rifle for combat against others with guns (policemen hand guns at a distance will fail them compared to a rifle) and the shotgun for infantry with armor. Then get some sabot slugs. It's good to have variety and let's be real. Any happenings is going to have a high death rate for the aggressors. Might as well put up a fight when you go down. Shotgun would come in handy in close quarters and one can have it on a strap to swing around quickly and fire should they be low/run out of ammo on the rifle. Hand gun is good too, but it's best to keep ammo on that because you can discard the two bigger guns while keeping the hand gun on you in a concealed manner when one is trying to exit the situation point. Obviously, you go in with masks and as little flesh showing.

That said, if you are looking for firearms specifically, your best options are either an AR-15 or a 9mm PCC. The AR is better if you plan on shooting at a further range, or through kevlar vests. The 9mm is better for followup shot placement, which is important as your targets will be running away. For either gun make sure to have something to assist with aiming, either a red dot or a laser.
