Got myself a new battleaxe. The head is made from a industrial sawblade and the haft is made from a cherry branch. Has a good heft not too heavy, not too light.

Trick is just you want it uniform, textured, not too thick (this will cause wrist damage, see fat bar related injuries at the gym), and for it to "give" a little when you squeeze it.

It's actually used with two hands in the martial arts that includes axes, war hammers, and such things. Two hands is the only way to use the haft properly in defensive or offensive moves.

>Handle's so short that there's no point in it as a two handed weapon (seriously, there are knives out there that would give you more reach than that axe)
>Studded. Grip.
>Axe heads are poorly designed
>Doesn't even have a speartip on top of the shaft
>The blades will go blunt, even with decent maintenance, so why don't you have a purpose built hammer on that axe?
>The hammer would also help with armour that can stop the axe edge (as you don't have the leverage to get as much blunt force out of the swing as you could)
I'd honestly have been more impressed with a pic of you holding a Bat'leth m80. If you're set on using a two handed melee weapon then go for a polearm, either a Bill or a Poleaxe would be the best place to start there. The Bill is simpler and easier to get hold of (most garden centres stock them as tools), but the poleaxe is a better design as a weapon.

Opinion disregarded. Take your hache and go back to France you fucking frog lover. The English bill will always be the king of polearms. Remember the Battle of Flodden the next time you say something so fucking retarded.
5201d6 No.563689
>>563687
The Bill is a wonderful tool, on and off the battlefield, but that's what it is - a tool. A tool that can easily kill I'll grant you, but everything it can do the Pole-axe can do at least as well (if not better) and the Pole-axe is also designed to do more things.
>MUH FALODDDDON!!!!!!
I'd argue that the battle of Flodden is less about what a Wunderwaffen the Bill is and more about how it's retarded to try and use Pike formations on uneven, rough, slippery, hilly terrain against an enemy that doesn't rely on cavalry.

unfortunately you fell for the same kind of memeage that i did when i made a flail. course, i was just doing as welding practice, and its brutal as fuck still, but flails were uncommon in the extreme on the battlefield. i was gonna give it a longer wooden haft, but the bit of wood i had my eye on got re-purposed as a shovel handle.

Unrelated but yeah don't be a idiot, metal and weapon/tool handles are a bad, bad combination. Wood is an amazing dampener, this is the reason why most hand tool handles are made of it, it's a good dampener and will cause far less strain on your wrists than using plastic or even worse, metal.
