Greetings, /k/. I lurk here from time to time and I'm a 2A loving American. Bought myself an M&P15 Sport II when I saw on the (((news))) that some Cuban orphan who was adopted by a jewish family obtained the new high score, before the panic buys, bans, and price hikes kicked in. TactiCOOL mods and a good optic were easy finds. What wasn't easy is finding a quality 5.56 round for home defense. Finding "hog hammers" and PDX1 is near impossible. So, I decided to come here to ask the experts. My primary is a Mossberg 500. If 5 rounds of 00 buck doesn't get the job done, my AR is the next step. I found some meme ass zombie ammo for now and know of a place I can get some Lehigh controlled chaos. The tl;dr is, what 5.56 ammo should I use for home defense and where can I get it? Thanks, anon. I'll have to link into it. My biggest problem seems to be that everyone is sold out of anything beyond target and bulk ammo. Specialty ammo seems hard to come by.

Considering the reaming your arsehole is going to take from factory prices, I suggest you start reloading, newfag-friend. Try the lee loader kits in 5.56, set you back 40 burgers and can fit inside of a shoebox.

I suggest you buy a powder measure and powder scale for another 45 burgers because dips SUCK.

Use ammoseek.com

Hornady and Speer make good ammo for two legged game.

Regular M193 55gr FMJ works just fine.

I would also suggest #4 buckshot for home defense. Much more pellets and less penetration, but it'll still punch through tyrone's hoodie.

Even heavy birdshot is fine within 10 yards. If you have rooms and corridors larger than 10 yards, something's fucky.

Bird shot is shit, bad advice. It's too slow and the pellets are too light, many cases of it hitting people are just causing welps like a bb gun.

Only use buckshot with a shotgun
