But they aren't losing any money, you idiot. You can't lose by putting in $250 capital and "only" getting $2500 instead of $25000 out of it because your country's socialist market regulations were repealed. You're $2250 in the green, this is still a 900% net gain on investment. It's literally about "saving" NFA items as "investments" so that you can put them in a trust when you retire and be part of a privileged group. They have nothing, personally or economically, to lose from those guns being devalued. It just lowers their artificial gains that they put in zero effort to get. Personally speaking most of them need to be tar'd and feathered then thrown off a boat for not supporting a NFA repeal.

You know what could have saved this thread? Some actual evidence. Leadership of pro-gun organizations are public. So are voting records. Frantically pointing out that people who have a potential economic interest in a policy is not the same as demonstrating that they actually agitate, let alone conspire to keep that policy in place.

Take the NRA for example. Can it be demonstrated that members of its board possess a significant financial interest in grandfathered GCA / NFA items? Are they known associates of any such people? Have there been any internal votes within the NRA which went a certain way because of these individuals? Any policy announcements? Anything at all? It seems plausible, but OP couldn't take the cocks out of his mouth long enough to do the groundwork.

They're cutting off supply, not creating demand.

14b2f2 No.558705

>>558695

More precisely, not only they have artifically made the supply curve almost-vertical, but they have also violated the basic condition for a free market, or an optimal solution, to exist by grossly violating the fundamental requirement that property laws should be transferrable.

d3fe39 No.558770

>>558695

You're right. If you stick to simple economic theory it is a forced reduction on supply. My bad.

Now, in practice, it works as a marketing tool too effectively having both effects at the same time. Let's say there is no ban on full-auto, but -just like with suppressors- you need a tax stamp to get it (or a similar bureaucratic procedure+extra money).

I don't think every potential buyer (people interested in the feature and with enough money) would care nearly as much for full auto if it wasn't a scarse product. Turning it into a limited product gives it a collectible status, thus making it desireable to people that otherwise wouldn't bother with it. Thinking of it as Nazi shit: Would there be demand for Nazi stuff if they were still relevant and on power?

Except real capitalism happens every single time someone trades without any coercion whatsoever, such as when someone trades corn over the fence for eggs, or trades their machining skills for silver slips, and merely requires the enforcement whether by government or otherwise of don't hit, don't steal, don't defraud, in other words a simpler version of most society.

Real communism can never happen as it's ideal is the absolute control over every resource possible in order to have everyone get an equal outcome. A perfect capitalist society is achievable today without much trying, as it merely requires the enforcement of a handful of laws. The fact that you attempted to try and say that libertarians and ancaps are just the other side of the coin of commies reveals just how much of a brainlet you are, you colossal faggot.

09997b No.565641

>>559787

>Except real capitalism happens every single time someone trades without any coercion whatsoever … in other words a simpler version of most society.

Capitalism is not just "economic transactions". I see this all the time when people bring up "capitalism is the natural state of humanity" example. If you think of it that way, every communist/socialist country also had capitalism because people bartered and money was printed.

Capitalism is when goods are produced using privately owned means of production for the purpose of selling it.

If you're farmer Joe and you grow a variety of crops (like a good sustenance farmer should) and you trade your surplus of corn this year to farmer Bob for his surplus of eggs, that's NOT capitalism.

If you're farmer Joe and you grow corn with the intention of trading it, or selling that corn for a medium of exchange, in order to buy the things you want, that's capitalism.

Why the 'tism? Media of exchange aren't at all necessary for capitalism to exist. They greatly facilitate capitalism, and as such there are multiple very strong incentives to use one, but barter isn't excluded from capitalistic transactions.

The fields used to grow crops are a means of production, dumbass. If farmer Joe owns his own farm, he is a capitalist, even if he barters away his surplus produce instead of selling it for money.

>If you're farmer Joe and you grow a variety of crops (like a good sustenance farmer should) and you trade your surplus of corn this year to farmer Bob for his surplus of eggs, that's NOT capitalism.

Yes that is, just because there's no money involved doesn't mean it's not capitalism. If farmer Joe owns his farm and can run his farm to grow whatever he wants using his own capital, that's capitalism. If farmer Joe didn't own his farm and had to run his farm to grow what the government wants him to grow, that's communism.
