We do, for traditional purposes.

Using it to transmit messages in the age of Radio communications, or to sound alert in the age of electronic/mechanical sirens is stupid though.

For the same reasons that most military units won't send a long distance message using morse-code gunfire. They've got better tools to do it these days.
