I wanted to experiment making board banners due to autism, so was happy to see this!
1st test managed a 5.64s long video clip
2nd gif managed a 8.72s long video clip
3rd gif, using some cunning pushed the video clip out to 10.56s, which is under 50kb/s
I think it may be possible to get a full 20s in under 500Kb with reasonable quality, but may do that another time.
300x100, and under 500Kb banners:
1. Collateral (Mozambique drill scene) 420Kb
2. Wind River (Knock Knock scene) 484Kb
3. Dunkirk (Spitfire dogfight scene) 483Kb
mp4s or HTML5 videos are more efficient than GIFs by 5 to 10 times apparently, so theoretically for 500Kb you could get nearly a 2 minute long GIF action scene. Sorry for autism.

Bravo Two Zero I like because it is unobtrusive, even though long, due to the colors. You'd have to pay attention to it to realize it is quite long.
I also like the Assassins Creed gif, because Archery counts too, and it was surprising to find that I could do it with only 6 colors.

The entire scene is included (I was testing how much can fit into 500kb)
