Jesus, that takes me back. I used to do video game testing, and this was one of the games I tested. We were only supposed to test the online multiplayer because the campaign was still a bug-filled, crash-heavy clusterfuck. Multiplayer was actually pretty decent, all things considered.

Anyway, point is, this rap was included from the very beginning of the game's development. Also, we once got to spend a day battling the devs online so they could get some raw data. We trounced the shit out of them.

Apparently (rumor mill), Jamie Foxx got pissed off at the ending (this is 3/4 through shooting mind you) because Gerard Butlers character is supposed to win.

My guess is he gets to the city hall as the bomb goes off, goes back to Butlers cell, finds the kids bracelet and possibly a note, and it ends there.

He ends up saying, in essence, "I can't let whitey win!" and refuses to finish filming.

Too expensive to recast at that point, they had to relent and shoehorn in the lame ending.
