I'm thinking about purchasing a rifle around Christmas time. My price range is 200 to 500 USD. What should I get?

ac56da No.530497

There is an SL8 for something like 300€ (You would have to ask about shipping though) on EGun right now.

http://www.egun.de/market/item.php?id=6707892

Not a what you may be looking for, but a good gun nevertheless.

There is also a Swedish Mauser up right now for <200€ (Again, ask about shipping), in 6.5.

Stay clear of 8mm Mausers for now. Ammo is getting expensive and the cheap Romanian stuff has issues. Nuggets are a good option still, but the prices for them are rising, while quality is falling.

go to palmettostatearmory.com and choose which upper and lower you want

Don't fucking waste money on shitty ass, obsolete, over priced shit guns from 100 years ago. "Surplus" doesn't exist anymore, it's a kike racket. Cheap yet functional AR's are where it's at now. You can throw together a $500 psa build that shoots as well as rockriver or Daniel defense.

get a fuckin nugget

I'm looking more into bolt action or semi automatic rifles. And a surplus rifle wouldn't be bad if it was just for show

Ordering would be a problem. The only reason I'm getting a rifle is because I'm over 18 and don't need any permit to own one.

What, if any rifle calibers do you already stock, and what need do you have that isn't already filled by your other guns?

> or semi automatic

Protip, AR15s are semi automatic unless you're very rich, or very unlawfully clever. Plus, playing gun-lego is fun!

How customizable is the standard AR? Should I buy one pre built or just build the entire thing on my own?

701083 No.530522

>>530520

they call it the lego gun for a reason. any upper is gonna fit on any loer you can afford. sped more on the upper than you do the lower, as the upper is where all the magic happens.

i would say get your first one pre built so you can get an idea of where to start with buying pieces on your own, if that makes any sense. id reccommend a S&W MP15 or a ruger ar 556. great starter ars

Bruh, fuck off. Bolt guns are cool. Old shit in general is cool

If all your needs are covered and you don't care about commonality of ammo I say get a Mauser pattern. If you can find one in 7x57 they are soft, sweet shooters. You should be able to find a Swede at the high end of your price range too. You should be able to find a Swiss Schmidt-Rubin at around there too.

Just get a PSA kit. For cheap

http://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-16-midlength-5-56-nato-1-7-nitride-moe-ept-rifle-kit-rear-mbus-516444983.html

Buy a lower from a local FLL, a punch set from amazon, some masking tape and magazines then make your rifle. Also buy a bayonet because you have a rifle that can mount one and libtards hate it.

For a nicer rifle, wait till they have a kit that has

>free float rail

>m lok

>nitride barrel

>sights

>magpul furniture

They rotate "sale" items regularly and that setup goes for $420 when its active (which it is at least once a month if not weekly).

For a really nice (but still "budget") rifle, get the kit I recommended you wait for and

http://palmettostatearmory.com/vortex-sparc-red-dot-scope-ten-magpul-pmag-30-magazines.html

After that you really just need a light and light mount (and more ammo+mags+something to hold them in)

Either Savage Axis or Mossberg MVP for its acceptance of M1A and AR mags
