Steel case ammo works just fine even i cheaper ARs. Just expect to replace parts sooner than later as opposed to feeding your rifle a steady diet of brass but the savings will make up for it.
https://www.luckygunner.com/labs/brass-vs-steel-cased-ammo/
With that said. Why would you use tula shit for shtf? Cheap russian shit is for practice, of course you try to avoid the shooting range so you can use your bimetal jacketed ammo. Keep your brass for shtf. Also you may want to carry 55 grain or hollowpoints (not varmint shit look up glaser wounds) instead of green tip that shit is what kept piercing cleanly through mub monkies not causing much in terms of wound cavities as it was made to get more range out of 5.56 in carbine barrels and basically sacrificing everything else. 55 grain out of a barrel longer than 14 inches will reliably fragment, of course the shorter the barrel the less effective as it reaches out further as .223/5.56 was made for 20 inch. Seeing as most "urban" shtf situations look to be blasting at packs of glass shard wielding nogs the lack (more like not as good, it'll still rip right through soft armor) of armor penetration won't be much of an issue. Carry some 77 grain instead if you want to penetrate better. better yet buy an AR10 to go with the 15

Wolf loads their steel shit at 5.56 pressure anyway, 3200 fps, so performance wise it's just as good as the brass.
Steel is harder, so something is going to wear faster. I remember shooting steel vs brass out of my G3. The G3 absolutely mangled the brass but the steel came out perfect, no deformation. It also depends on the quality of your barrel and bolt carrier assembly.
Thing is, no one really knows because no one has ever actually wore out their barrels, so I myself am from here on out stocking up with the steel wolf shit. This black friday week was mother fucking expensive as hell for me, $3000, but saved about 700.

It's basic economics
1) ever decreasing supply of slavshit garbage

3) AR design is way fucking better than the sks or ak and everyone knows it, the manufacturers know it and the market is utterly flooded, which not only lowers the price but increases quality across the board as manufacturers must inevitably differentiate.
4) Slavshit is tarriffed out the ass, for obviously stupid reasons, but blocked nonetheless.

Right up until Trump leaves office, then your prices are going to skyrocket again. It's a fucking bubble - manufacturers produced a shitload to take advantage of the Obama era panic buying, and found themselves with high production and tons of stock when Trump got elected, so prices dropped through the floor. Prices will slowly rise in response to slim profit margins, and will spike as soon as a democrat ends up in office.
THAT is economics, not your retarded pipe dream where your allowance from mommy is enough to buy racks full of ARs because manufacturers won't rig prices to meet the political climate.

>btw, the "manufacturers produced a shitload" is a meme. You forget your own political "save my ass" backtrack by forgetting that demand also collapsed. There was no overproduction, just price gouging, dumbfuck.
Dead wrong. Everyone upped production so they could make more money off the panic buying - demand collapsed only after Trump got elected, so prices dropped even as production was high. Demand then increased because suddenly you could get a mediocre AR for $500.
This is basic college-level stuff. It doesn't take much effort to read and find out what manufacturers are and were doing, and how that ties into the most basic of economic principles.
And at the end of the day, no matter how much you whip yourself into a raging froth, the fact still stands: the SKS is a decent rifle, especially as an innawoods gun, and 6e2bb4 shouldn't sell his Norinco because some fuckwit anon with a raging hard-on for Eugene Stoner said to.

The low AR prices are only going to last as long as the republicans do, and will rise over time regardless because profit margins are slim right now.

Can be modified permanently to take AK mags, can use a 20 round internal mag, can use specific detachable mags that have a shitty catch on them that makes them almost not worth it, can be left stock to dodge assault weapons laws in shitty states, or you can just not worry about it since you're not really that likely to be assaulted by 11 niggers in the woods.

Perfectly acceptable for its purpose as a battle rifle, and almost identical to the AK. Simple, intuitive, functional.

Only if you don't clean the cosmoline out of the bolt after you buy it. If you're really that worried, you can buy spring-loaded firing pins like the originals had (only later models were free-floating) for all of $10.

Overpriced because there aren't any new ones. We've been over this already. Did you forget already? Is your attention span that bad? Did you not take your ritalin this morning?
At the end of the day, no matter how much you whip yourself into a raging froth, the fact still stands: the SKS is a decent rifle, especially as an innawoods gun, and 6e2bb4 shouldn't sell his Norinco because some fuckwit anon with a raging hard-on for Eugene Stoner said to.

Definitely illiterate.
I've said it something like 4 times now. Anon shouldn't sell his SKS. That doesn't mean you should buy one. When a stock is rated "hold", do you rush out and buy as much as you can afford? I mean, I guess that would explain why the AR-15 is the only 5.56 platform you can afford.
>a bunch of other non-arguments that he pulls out of his ass because he's so pissed off, deliberately misreading what I said so he doesn't look like a fool
So you're only now realizing that you can't back up any of what you said, either about the SKS or about the market as a whole.
>only thing I'm going to say is that if you're going to modify the sks with ak shit, just buy an AK and have a better gun
AKs are significantly more expensive, they've been hit even harder by the slavshit price hikes, especially if you want a decent one.
>SKS was meme'd and it's value rose because a bunch of poor losers hyped it up because that
You're such a fucking failure of a hipster that you're rejecting a relatively obscure gun because it's vaguely popular in a niche of the internet that you found last year, and encouraging people to sell off what they already own and buy the most bland, generic, mainstream platform imaginable.
>and then they priced themselves out of their own guns lmao retards
I don't know why the concept of sanctions is so hard for you to grasp, I really don't. All slavshit has become more expensive, period. /k/ did not somehow singlehandedly make the SKS become more expensive, nor did the jewtube gun community.
And nothing you say or do will ever change the fact that the SKS is a decent rifle, especially as an innawoods gun, and 6e2bb4 shouldn't sell his Norinco because you said to.

ARs and SKS will both go up in value. The SKS is no longer produced, while the AR is the most produced military style semi-auto in the US. The SKS is an older style gun that looks fuddish enough to fly under the radar in certain ban states, like the mini-14/30 series guns.
As far as owning one for investment, the AR would be the one to get since they are at the top of every ban list. The SKS is more of a historical piece. In reality neither will appreciate astronomically even if they were banned for quite some time.

Any oil will honestly work if you have enough of it.
What makes oils different is cost, how well they stick around where you want them, long term safety, and whether or not they oxidize and form gunk that you need oven cleaner to deal with (which happens to nearly all vegetable oil based lubes), and how well they protect from rust.
