He's doing good, sergeants repeating orders is common even in combat with trained personnel because shit isn't getting done enough or fast enough to their taste.

He's struggling a bit with reloading the M2… but then who isn't? The M2 is a very capricious/quirky gun, note that it always works but it's an expert gun, it need time and practice to get use to it and rigorous maintenance.

I don't really see a problem. In an exercise like that safety is a major factor, especially because he's running a .50. They're communicating like they're supposed to, both from a tactical standpoint and a safety one. Also, keep in mind that his helmet cam isn't wearing ear pro. Just because you can hear it clearly in the video doesn't mean the people in the video can hear the same thing.

Something else I thought I'd add, while I'm at it. You yell at each other all the fucking time in combat. Rank and social graces are out the window. It's not uncommon, even as a junior enlisted, to yell to an officer or NCO that hey fucker, get your fucking ass moving and fucking shift right goddammit, the terrain is bunching up our guys on the left. And nobody will bat an eye, during or after.

As for this specific video. those guys sitting in the truck don't have much else to do. Yelling (More like telling) for him to hurry the fuck up is just dudes getting into it. They're not being harsh or mean in the slightest, or even really critical or scolding. It's essentially the equivalent of casual conversation in combat.

That gun needs to be replaced. If browning was alive and knew it was still being used, first he would feel self-pride, but then as he realized how fucked up it was he would feel abject horror that his nation made no strides of improvement since then.

List of replacements for the 38kg M2 from USA alone:

XM312 (19kg),

LW50MG (18kg),

M85 (29kg),

XM307 (22kg),

Bushmaster .50 (35kg but this is a CHAIN GUN),

and XM806 (18kg) including many other shelved designs and even prototypes dating back to 1930s.

Historically there are superior guns, like Becker Type M2 eeeeeh! :^) don't even need to change procurement lists 20 mm cannon, which is lighter coming in at 30kg and is from world war fucking one so the history fetishists defending M2 can be satisfied. There are also dozens of ally guns available such as MAC-58 (28kg) and RMG.50 (25kg). Not to mention enem- uh… Russian guns which are much lighter, like ShVAK 20mm Soviet cannon (39kg) or its replacement the B-20 (25kg). Even random podunk countries like Tringapore saw how obsolete it was and tried to replace it by directly learning lessons from American experimental programs, building stuff like CIS50MG (30kg), but apparently Americans can't learn lessons from programs their taxpayers paid for.

It also bears mentioning that considering it's usually vehicle mounted, for just a bit more weight (yet in the same rough weight class) you can have a shitton more improvement in fire capability:

MG 151 machinegun in 15mm (42.7mm),

M621 cannon 20mm (45kg),

Gau-19 a .50 three barrel (48kg),

KPV 14mm gun (49kg),

M230 chain gun 30mm (55kg),

FN 15.5mm (60kg) machine gun,

and Rh202 mounted on Wiesel (75kg).

Just get the MG3. It can be repaired with a knife and a rock, has a quick changeable barrel and I am sure Rheinmetall would offer a version in .50 if you asked nicely.

I want to coat it in hot cosmoline and keep large numbers of it in storage for any future conflicts, then use all of it's two barrels simultaneously, while keeping it mounted on a vehicle, and feeding it loads of 7.62x51 NATO at more than 2400 rpm or standard 1200 rpm..

I know it sounds retarded, but it would be hella fun to shoot.
