The (handful of units of the) Iraqi army took the whole city of Kirkuk from them in not even half a day of fighting… Because it's a battalion size element that was "holding it" at best, because ISIS and the Iraqi kurds have NEVER fought each other (same as the SDF in Deir Ez Zor which aren't YPG kurds, just "arab militias", don't fight with ISIS as the Russians proved).

So when a combined unit of the Iraqi army showed up with a full battalion of M1 and a couple battalions of shock infantry, they ran away and the few that actually stayed got mowed down instantly.

Kurds are a bunch a creepy hobos that loiter around a supermarket parking lot.

It's their parking lot until the security guard shows up, they then "fight him heroically" and are forced "to make a tactical retreat" but will "come back tomorrow for their land"!

The current theory is that the PUK cut a deal with the Iraqi government to hand over a good chunk of Iraqi Kurdistan in exchange for something. No one knows what that something is yet.

So what happened in kirkuk was the PUK controlled Peshmerga pulled out after a night of skirmishing with the PMF militia and their Quds handlers. They left behind the KDP controlled Peshmerga to fend for themselves and thus the KDP soon pulled out.

This is all very disappointing considering the Peshmerga had just sent two brigades with US equipment into kirkuk the night before. The Kurds need to deal with their tribal infighting.

Iraq has a lot of pride in it's past and doesn't shun it for Islam but they are definitely Arab/Semitic, if not Arab than what.

What exactly are they supposed to do? Remember the US is still in the fantasy state that Iraq is a trump card against Iran, or the Saudis if need be. When compared to that assumption the Kurds don't even jiggle the needle on the gauge.

It was just announced that the PUK struck a deal with the Iraqis to go back to pre-mosul operation borders. This is why the PUK pulled out of Kirkuk when the Iraqis started to roll in and the KDP stayed put.

You're confusing the PKK and YPG for the entirety of Kurdistan. There are dozens of kurdish parties with an entire range of political beliefs. For example Iraqi Kurdistan is currently controlled by a lukewarm socialist party(PUK) and a center right nationalist party(KDP).
