Auscuck here /k/, I was wondering what you guys think of lever action shotguns? Due to our restrictive gun laws, pump action shotguns are hard to obtain and unable to be used in lots of recreational activities, while lever actions are readily available on basic firearms licences.

I was thinking of getting one mainly for getting rid of the odd fox and snake but also the occasional clay session at the range with the lads.

Also would it be too tacticool if I attached a vertical grip to it?

Maybe steer clear of the box magazine ones? Looks stupidly bulky. And a vertical grip would just fuck with your recoil absorption.

I think another issue box magazines have is that they're cumbersome, add weight, are a bit slower to reload and you'd have another mechanism to worry about with the magazine springs. But yeah, lever actions are fun.

I thought lever action shotguns didn't cycle plastic hulled shells well and you had to make paper ones to work. Is this wrong?
