Here this is regarding PA state law on carrying what the ATF considers a rifle/long gun on public streets while concealed and NOT hunting. Hunting isn't a defense in the middle of town when you don't even have a license to hunt.

Theres that statute but for all I know theres some vague part of the law not included here that may say its illegal or a precedence on the books that has legal ground that I don't know about and isn't going to be on the statute.

OP here. I got the SKS

I jewed him down to $220. I feel like I should go to Temple Saturday now.

Anyway its a Norinco SKS thats had most the metal parts refinished and actually done fairly well. Its no longer blued but instead its a greenish finish that was done after the owned realized there was some small amount of rusting and pitting going on in some areas. Nothing even bad and the new finish isn't even worn off the rails. The bolt needs polished and for some reason elmer fudd decided to try to super glue the main breakdown pin, that holds the dust cover on, in place or something like that. No idea why but its a bit of a mess.

Also the gun wobbles in the stock a bit and the wood to metal fit is pretty bad. Might be fixable with some type of bedding but idk atm. Also a remington rubber butt pad on something weaker than a 30-30 is fucking cute.

Besides that the kid/young man I bought it from said he shot it only 40 times since hes owned it, as in 40 rounds fired through it. Its obvious he didn't clean it after firing this ammo because the guns full of carbon. Only a small amount of maybe rust in the gas tube but the gun just needs some cleaning is all.

All in all I will take some pictures later after cleaning it but in general I'm glad I went back and got it. This should be a fun gun to shoot and maybe easy to fix the wood up. I might refinish the stock aswell since its not in great shape. Usually I use Boiled Linseed Oil since it smells nice but that might be to much work and maybe just throwing some type of clear coat would be the easiest way.

I always end up putting a slip-on on a Mosin or SKS, not because the recoil is excessive but because I fucking need that extra inch on the length of pull.

Don't clear coat it. Sand it down and give it a proper treatment the moment you find out why its loose in the stock or just get a NOS one, shouldn't run you more than $60 provided the stock on that one has all the butt hardware

I took it apart. (Its not in a pile on my floor since yesterday) and I noticed in a video online that there was a spring under the trigger group. Basically between the stock and the trigger group. I guess this spring is supposed to take the slop out but its long been lost.

They want $7 or more for a used spring online. Anyone know what strength/size spring to use as a new replacement? I guess Im gonna need to talk to someone who knows a fair amount about the SKS to get that answer. I don't like the idea of buying used springs, its one of those things I dont think makes much sense unless you have to do it.

Besides that someone brushed on a nasty ass clear coat of some kind on it (put it over the crossbolt on the stock aswell as the stupid remington butt pad aswel. Im guess this was probably the inbred retard that inherited this gun before it eventually ended up at a fun shop.

Btw saw a decent deal of 1,000 rounds of Golden Tiger for $200 on SGAmmo and just ordered it.
