He separated himself some time ago. Right now Glock's kind of rudderless, they tried to pull a Colt and depend on government contracts and now that has fallen through they're trying to push the Gen5. Let's just hope the good idea fairy doesn't visit and they try a proprietary new cartridge again.

And they still produce everything in the Czech Republic, all CZ-usa does is importation and distribution.

Good value new production carry gun? I don't think CZ is ever a mistake, so the P07 is where my thoughts go, especially since I'm seeing price drops on them happening. As much shit as I give the S&W M&P I really like the compact versions, I think for that particular size they're leaps and bounds better than a G26/G27, and again I'm seeing prices falling on them.

They've only ever really had the one thing. They managed a plethora of flavors but at it's core everything that Glock makes is the same basic automatic pistol. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but at this point if they want to keep market share they don't need gimmicks, they need to outsell the competition. I've got no doubts Glock could make money selling the new gens with night sights for the $450 mark, and if they did that they could almost certainly shore up their standing for another 20 years.

Henry makes good lever-actions, HK was against the 1994 AWB, I've heard nothing bad about CZ, Winchester is owned by FN now but I haven't heard anything bad.

Only problem with Henry's are that they have no loading gates, regardless of caliber. If you're fine with unscrewing the tube cap every time you want to reload though, they're great.

Supposedly, it's because they want to make their guns as close to the original models as reasonably possible, and loading gates weren't on any of them. Personally, I don't think it would kill their reputation to release a few with that feature.

I have no idea, I just know they did this strange countersink on the end of the barrel that is supposedly better for shooting. I would buy one if I did not already have a gen4, its not quite worth buying a gen5.

And that leads me to my next question, who the fuck is this targeted towards? Glock jocks already own Glocks, why would they buy another of basically the same thing. My only conclusion is that this is targeted towards left handed people who never owned a glock.
