You are forgetting the fact that liberalism is everywhere. The other day my high school literature teacher went on a rant about how, "Women are oppressed by history" and that "They need to free themselves by achieving parity with men in all fields". Tell me how many women can pass a physical test for firefighting. Then get back to me and realistically tell me about achieving 50/50 parity. It's not like this is some job where you just need to type on a damn computer, everyone can do that
Somewhat of a sage but technically /k/ related.
As someone whos family member first hand experience the cultural revolution, I think that is, quiet frankly, the closest term to describe the US right now. China had the public shaming of dissidents, which quite frankly, is what the spot of the "right" or white nationalists are in right now. The removal of statues is pretty close to the destruction/removal/vandalism of heritage as well, I'm going to say that in 20, maybe 30 years, if the liberals don't all win, people are going to complain about the US gov not doing enough to stop these idiots.
>inb4 B-but Germany removed all the nazi symbols from public!
Not an argument, they have them in museums. It is also legal to own them historically as long as you dont go parading around with them Which I disagree with the basis that free speech= You shouldn't be censoring people from politics period.
>Bbut my feelings are offended.
Not an argument, the first amendment guarantees the (technically) right to freedom of any speech Which is curtailed by the fire in a theater and (((national security))) clauses it means in no manner whatsoever that you have the right to not be offended by it. Unfortunately, the "think of the children!" excuse is often abused to amount to self-censorship, or worse, intimidation.
>Inb4 But we didn't ruining those alt-right peoples lives!
Yes, they did. Because while they are not being murdered/ having their stuff confiscated/ sent to the gulag, these people end up having their reputations ruined, out of a job, and shunned from society. That is no different then the "Red Guards" dragging you around with a sign saying "I AM THE SERVANT OF AMERICAN IMPERIALISTS" who couldn't get a job after that anywhere (blacklisted by the CCP) and usually died of starvation.
>Relocating the monuments helps preserve our heritage!
Incorrect, by doing so, you move them somewhere out of sight, out of mind. You are being revisionist and destroying your own history, which whether you like that history or not, will always be with you.
>Promotes universal equality
True universal equality doesn't exist red*dit fags. It's not possible. It is the same reason why my ethnicity is label Asian, and not just American. You achieve parity with others by working hard, not by asking for government handouts and saying "muh opressed history". Good example is the Congo, India, China. The reason the latter two are on the world stage (Although not as powerful as Russia/US/EU) is because ==THEY GOT THEIR SHIT TOGETHER== not "muh colonial history" They do it for politics now though. It is the reason Japan was so strong in Asia in the late 20th. You learn from your enemy, you apply tactics that are beneficial to your cause.
