>Is Islam a religion of peace?
No. Islam is a religion of submission. If we are attacked, we fight back and we keep fighting back until the enemy ceases fighting or is dead. We embrace peace as the desired state of being, but some folks just refuse to allow us to remain peaceful.
If you have any other specific questions, we will gladly answer.

Islam is the slavery to God. it's simple is that. th God Almighty wants us to be peaceful though just not pacifist. Pacifism is cancer. Quran basically says that if someone punches you then you have the right to punch back.

Few actually are. Historically, empirical leaders were below the church in holding religion above their own power in most cases, and the masses concurred. Therefore religion had an extra voice, so to speak, in historical decisions made, including war, so to include to your inquiry.
The peace sign that we commonly know today in fact consists of a combination of flag semaphore letters, N and D. N.D. was an acronym for Nuclear Disarmament prominent in the 60's hippie movement beginning in the late 50's campaign with its design by some Britbong (according to the Huffington Post) recognizing retaliation for Nagasaki and Hiroshima, militarizing nuclear weapons in general, before a Cold War ensued. Now it's just a market piece and the logo of Craigslist.
Peace is sometimes symbolized by doves or pigeons as well as the bunny ear fingers and the tree of life or flowers, or an assault rifle, whatever your poison.

Yes, yes it is. But that doesn't mean that Islam tells people to die without defending themselves.
Islam is a complete guideline for humans to live their lives in this earth. As such, it gives us advice on every single matter. What to do in every situation, how to eat, what to eat, how to live, etc. etc.
Islam tells us to remain peaceful and to treat others with compassion, respect, sympathy and with proper respect. But it also tells us to stand up for ourselves and to fight when we're attacked, oppressed, etc.
Islam tells us what to do in every single situation and how to act in those situations while maintaining religious, personal, social and overall integrity.

YES.
Our Prophet (saws) was literally a founding member of the real life justice league. Let that sink in. SubhanaAllah.

Injustice means overturning and crossing the bounds of decency and goodness set by Allah. Muslims are the real social justice warriors, not to be confused with the weird kafir kids that call themselves that.

Islam is a way of life.
Its not religion of peace, this misunderstanding is from the word "As-salāmu ʿalaykum", which translated into "Peace be upon you" in English. The actual meaning is much more like "Good day (to you) mate/bro".
Muslim hater saw this "Peace upon you" and linked it to Muslim brutality (in some part of the world), thus the meme "Religion of Peace" started.
In my whole life, I never knew Islam as religion of peace, until I went to conspiracy websites. I just know "Islam is a way of life" motto.
