I know that they do certain things, but I have no bloody clue why they do it. I suppose that's why I haven't had much luck with human relations, and why I'd rather not bother myself with it anymore.

Well I don't even think I can tell you "why" people do half the things they do.
I guess the most important thing to be cognizant of something like, "Generally when I do this kind of thing, this has been the result" and adjust accordingly. Yes it's similar to self-censoring or that, but you can kind of do it in a way where you're still mostly speaking as you please.
