anyway on the music
overall p nice, though the tracks are a bit samey. i know you probably have more than those three but if they're all like that it might get too repetitive for players. easiest way to change it up is with different instrumental pallets or time signatures. "the one that matters" is my favorite of the three. the gong into piano thing is a really neat idea. however the whole intro is a bit overlong. "welcome to the lonely town" is cool, and the drums sound fresh off of the previous song, but the off-key piano line is a bit much even though you can tell it's supposed to be that way. "i'm sorry" i listened to a little less intently but i did notice that the transition was a little abrupt and weird. and i don't know how youre making these songs but throughout the keys have moments where they sound a little off also. maybe it's a fault of the program youre using or something idk. but yeah overall pretty nice atmospheric soundtrack stuff keep it up.

Well, that's a lot more detailed than I expected.
>im sure it'll be worth the effort if you take your time and make it look nice.
Highly arguable.
>overall p nice, though the tracks are a bit samey. i know you probably have more than those three but if they're all like that it might get too repetitive for players.
In terms of instrumentation, they're kinda similar, for the most part.
I've moreso gone for different sounding songs, in terms of what feeling they portray. The ones I posted are either kinda bittersweet or traumatic. I've been trying different sounding ones, but it's difficult, when most of the gane is pretty melancholic and depressing by definition.
I'd also add that since this is game music, it's meant to be listened more during gameplay. In other words, while doing something else, like solving puzzles or reading character interactions. Like, it's rarely the main focus. Might, in a way, excuse it.
>easiest way to change it up is with different instrumental pallets or time signatures.
In terms of instruments, I've tried stuff out, yeah.
I don't really want to go too crazy. I try to keep the instruments sounding the same between songs, to build a consistent style, in a way. So same piano, same orch. violins, same drums. As if it were played by the same orchestra or band.
>"the one that matters" is my favorite of the three.
I'll agree with you there.
>the gong into piano thing is a really neat idea. however the whole intro is a bit overlong.
That's actually due to the game itself more than anything. The bells are kinda significant in a way. You could even argue that the song really only at the piano part.
> "welcome to the lonely town" is cool, and the drums sound fresh off of the previous song, but the off-key piano line is a bit much even though you can tell it's supposed to be that way.
I'm curious as to which parts specifically sound off key, considering I assume I have an okay ear for these things.
It's minor key with some parts diminished, so it might just be down to the soundfont itself.
>"i'm sorry" i listened to a little less intently but i did notice that the transition was a little abrupt and weird.
Yeah, that's been on the backburner for a while. Not sure what to do about that one.
>and i don't know how youre making these songs but throughout the keys have moments where they sound a little off also. maybe it's a fault of the program youre using or something idk.
I know the piano soundfont I'm using has it's quirks for a fact. But I've kinda become attached to it. It's bizarrely distinct from most other piano soundfonts I've played around with.
>but yeah overall pretty nice atmospheric soundtrack stuff keep it up.
