Any examples? I say there is a lot more trash and most of it has to do with the forcing of certain political and social agendas into games and rehashes of certain games thanks to certain (((publishers))).

Touhou is still chugging along.
Etrian Odyssey has stayed good through it's run.
Dustforce is another good one that's just plain fun with no strings attatched.
Fighting games as a whole are still largely SJW and agenda free.
So are Shmups.
Midair is coming out soon, which is made by EX-legions devs and so far the tribes community really likes it.
The list goes on and on, but you're right, there is a lot of garbage out there. But, it's not all bad.

Other than the SFV censorship and bugs still on the pc, I think it was the treatment of Mega Man fans and how they really screwed up Devil May Cry. Although my information may be a little dated, since Inafune is gone after trying to make the company more "western friendly"
I'm not a Monster Hunter fan, so I can't comment on that.

It's like how I missed out on getting F1 2013 for 75% off (with all of the Classic Edition content), and Codemasters don't sell it anymore because of licensing issues.

The games are balanced for higher level competitive play, so for casuals a lot of it is lost, or will never be used.
That's fine though, fighting games can be enjoyed by all.
The "censorship" that happened with SFV didn't bother the actual core audience of the game, which was the competitive players. They couldn't give less of a shit.
