finally moving beyond the prologue in WtD's development. Spent the past month doing story stuff and addressing people's criticisms of the prologue.
Spent all of yesterday making a running animation. fuck, that shit's hard.
also added a global cross room variable for direction between rooms, which means that if you enter a room facing a door facing north, you will face north in the room, rather than always facing south. surprising how something so simple requires an external .ini file to save variables in. same for looping music across rooms. Toby Fox made it easy on himself by making all his songs loop from the beginning.
a few small bug fixes and one spelling error removed as well.
made the path to the clock tower more obvious, as per 'popular' request and made the map marker stand out more as well.
right now, i will have to draw and program… 'them'.
also a side project, out of boredom, i might experiment with some Mario Party esque mechanics for a potential future project. So dice rolling, movement across spaces, things of that nature.

So i spent a really long time coding enemies for WtD, right. and i also made some important changes to MCs controls. essentially found a way to fix a bug that's been there for a few months.
this change, i thought, broke everything.
the map wouldn't open, and would also lock character inputs. the minimap wouldn't work. the fps counter wouldn't work. the footstep sounds played twice at the same time, and wouldn't stop as i was walking into a wall.
i spent hours trying to fix all of that.

there were two copies of the MC object in the room.
