Until they renew their certificates, Vola is currently not a good place to upload your content. They allowed their security certification to expire and even worse have up a code on their site that makes it impossible to ignore / overlook the expired certificates to download anyway.

As far as I am aware currently it is only one of their security certifications that failed. "dl1.volafire.org" But it is impossible to control which security cert vola uses when you upload files so all files that get assigned that dl1 instantly becomes an unusable file.

Until this gets resolved you will want to look to other hosting services.

Here is what happens when anyone attempts to download a file that had the bad luck to use that certification…

>Your connection is not secure

>The owner of dl1.volafile.org has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website.

>This site uses http Strict Transport Security (HSTS) to specify that Firefox may only connect to it securely. As a result, it is not possible to add an exception for this certificate.

>dl1.volafile.org uses an invalid security certificate. The certificate expired on Sunday, June 17, 2018, 6:43 AM. The current time is Sunday, June 17, 2018, 10:58 AM. Error code: SEC_ERROR_EXPIRED_CERTIFICATE

You can use wget to bypass the expired certificates.

Just need to use the code: wget -c –no-check-certificate –header "Cookie: allow-download=1"

After that just type a space and then the 'bad' url for the download in vola within "marks".

Example: wget -c –no-check-certificate –header "Cookie: allow-download=1" "https://dl1.volafile.org/get/Example/Filename.example"

To find out what the url is for each bad file, simply right click the file link and choose to open it in a new window. The address in the new window's address bar goes in the "url example" area letter for letter.

HSTS is not 'code run by the website' as such. It's a standard which means the browser will know to ONLY connect to this site with a secure connection and do so automatically in the future.

Interestingly I get a Let's Encrypt certificate issued on 18th May when I connect to dl1

Do you have anti-virus software or a firewall doing any inspection?

That or they got the problem fixed.

Problem seems to be fixed, at least for me.
