Does hypnosis still work if you fall asleep? I fell asleep a few times and woke up 20-40 minutes later.

 No.39812

your mind is more receptive when you`re asleep so, yes it can still work

 No.39818

No it does not. Hypnosis is a state of intense focus (albeit when the critical parts are bypassed), despite what most think it is. It isn't sleep. If you woke up during the count-up at the end, I'd say you were deep and has amnesia-like effects. If you didn't wake until 20 minutes+ later, no, it does not work unless the file instructed you to fall asleep at the end. Does it have a count up? Did you wake up? No? Then you obviously weren't following instruction and it didn't work.

 No.39819

Almost certainly not. Hypnosis isn't magic and your brain isn't processing information at a high enough level to absorb it while unconscious. Remember that hypnosis is something you're choosing to take part in and letting your walls down. Falling asleep means there is nothing behind those walls in the first place..

Falling asleep means you were likely tired, lost focus, and drifted off.

So loops that you "should" listen while asleep are placebo?

They're like counting sheep. Something to think about while slowly drifting to sleep. Sure they've been studies linking dreams to sounds like the ocean, but I honestly doubt any suggestions get through.

That happens sometimes with me and, while I'd like to think it means the hypnosis worked on me so well that it put me in a somnambulistic state, I suspect it's often just the tempo change between the "body" of the file and the awakening count-up that is enough to wake many people out of a light sleep.

While I understand everyone's experience with hypnosis is unique, for me, when a file has an actual amnesia component, at best it just makes my memories of what was said during the file a little foggy, I still remember that I listened to the file and it didn't feel like I actually fell asleep for 20 minutes the way it does when I wake up during the awakening count-up.

listening it while youre asleep is the best way to absorb subliminals

Pretty skeptical of this.
