are handshake inductions fake? I want to try things of the like but I'm a bit nervous about that. A lot of this seems to be too.. easy to be real.

I've been learning about hypnosis and NLP but most of my sources are either online or via derren browns "tricks of the mind". Any recommended reading material?

Handshake inductions are definitely real. With a catch. "Instant inductions" or "rapid inductions" are largely based on setting up the expectation of hypnosis before the "induction" starts. Often this is described as the pre-talk being part of the induction.
