My monitor has been flickering like crazy after I turn it on, until it "warms up" for the past few months and it's gotten worse. Recently, the monitor started blinking with a black screen and turning off and on and blinking again. I have to unplug the power cord and HDMI cable repeatedly until it connects to the PC.

The monitor is a ASUS VW266H which I got 8 years ago. Is there any way to repair this or is it dying?

Pic related, it kinda looks like this and stays for 5 minutes until it calms down. After that everything looks normal.

Try a different HDMI cable in different HDMI ports. If there's still an issue, your monitor is borked and you need to replace it.

Issues like this are often a result of shitty connections.
