Yeah, it's best not to invest in projects where devs didn't have previous experience in.

If they can make a game on their personal time and wallet, then they will complete a game with the money of others. They need to find a good workflow/pattern before they start charging because they'll hit all sorts of new issues every time. Game dev is a tough field to do.

I'll take the L on this one. I used to defend them because I never touched it before. I still believe that it's tremendously tough, but it's even tougher if it's your first game without a workflow on that platform. It's easy to be directionless and stuck if you don't know what you're doing.

I think it would be a good thread if we could post game dev resources.

It started with an prototype where you could walk to a room to have sex with a person. It had breast physics and smooth animation, so people liked it and suggested for it to be hosted on patreon. They released another alpha with character customization and the ability to pick different clients (played the same animations though).

A lot of setbacks occurred over time however, they had to rework their animation system. A crucial team member (was it the programmer or modeler? I don't know) left and the project was suspended. They restarted again and released a completely different alpha with character customization, but you only saw others having sex. Then it was remade again.

They were kind of lost and they should have made a project beforehand on unity.

Well for "schedule games", MVOL has kept to a bi-monthly updates for a long time now, no bullshit delays all the time like with some games *cough*Lilith's Throne*cough*. I don't know if Kobold Adventure has a schedule the dev keeps to, but updates seem to come reasonably quickly (every few weeks it seems).

The completed game I was referring to was Paraphore, and like actually finished and not just slapping "1.0" on an early beta thing. The devs have moved onto the sequel, though, so I guess there's opportunity there for development to fall through (hopefully fucking not).
