Debatable, having a fursuit makes him immediately noticeable as being "someone" distanced apart from the sea of faces of everyday people at conventions or on photo timelines, even if no one has ever seen you or your character before ever, so that's probably why it was picked up on in the first place or people noticed he was missing in the first place.

Doesn't really matter to me though, since regardless of circumstances I hope they find the poor fellow.

I think furries would care less about him if he was older. Like if he was in his 40s or something I highly doubt anyone would even notice he disappeared.
