I wouldn't say complexity, given their find Anna to be fairly simple as well. Rather, it's just a difference of commonality. Anna's a fairly typical strong-willed type character. Most the characters, honestly, follow a pretty typical build.
In Anna's case, it's a bit rarer to see, at least in a more slice of life game. Especially when combined with a scientist role, as they're usually relegated to either a typical nerd look, or one of more haughtiness.
Personally, I always quite liked girls with the archetype. Usually they get confidence and ambition, and a minor pinch of, for lack of a better term, rudeness, which when kept to a small level, is quite endearing.
Though, they almost always end up shitty muscle characters who demand you be submissive. Fortunately, Anna doesn't seem to be that, and treats you largely as an equal. Bonus points for allowing some meanness from you.
Anyway as far as Adine, I find her a nice enough person, but not one I could date. Also, her frills blend too much with her head mane bit.
She'd make a good friend. Seb is best friend [?] possibly with benefits no homo [/?] though.
