 No.62381[Watch Thread][Show All Posts]

It was great while it lasted but every great thing comes to an end. First off yiff party has had some issues with updating and atm is now entirely reliant on the community. Even a couple people have updated some yiff.party profiles a couple is a small number compared to hundreds.

Second is that even with the profile entirely updated the artists send PM VIA to their patrons and use password locked folders and whatnot.

Third the CUF apocalypse

Our nightmare scenario is when patreon enables gif site wide. Then it is gameover

Post in the yiff.party thread.

This is a completely unnecessary thread to make.

YP still seems pretty ok to me OP. Infact I'm going to use it right now. If nobody is updating CUF creators then that just means their art is shit and the freemarket wins again.

It's not gonna be the end of the world, buddy. There's always gonna be avenues where you will get your fix. Google is your friend, imgur hosts a shitload of patreon pictures without us even realizing that. It all depends on your ability to look out for your fix.

What Patreon has to do is to start applying the Digimarc® Invisible Watermark to every image unique to every user. That way if an unauthorized copy of a Patreon image appears publicly online, the leaker can be identified and get their Patreon account banned or fined. May be the best way to stop image piracy, and it also seems like an inevitable solution in my opinion.

 No.62465>>62469 >>62495

>>62460

That can still be circumvented by having more than one uniquely watermarked image, from say 2 or more people.

Then they can be compared to identify the watermark, then anybody with decent photoshoping skill can edit out the watermarks.

Often some subtle color & luminosity blurring can help too, especially on cartoon images, since solid color areas should not have variations in levels.

>implying Patreon is competent enough to implement this

 No.62468>>62469

>>62460

some patreons already do this. See druids comic.

Having to go through the new extra steps for each image will at least discourage some. It's not like those who share unauthorized copies of Patreon submissions benefit in any way from their actions. They only do it because it's easy.

>>62468

Don't know who that is, but it's good news that it's starting to be implemented.

I would imagine editing a few pixels would fuck up the watermark detection unless it goes by percentage matched.

It's a resilient technology with built-in redundancy to survive manipulation and re-encoding.

Looks like you fine folks made a wrong turn. Furaffinity and Deviantart are that-a-way.

How I would do it-- divide the image into sections, and then encode a UID by distorting the sections slightly. This'll prevent recovering a high-quality image from multiple copies. I could probably knock up a thing to do it in Python-- but I won't because I hate the Capitalist Cancer that took over Furry.

Not sure why you included me. I was talking about how to possibly get around such a system.
