Same. I'd recommend a few simple music theory books. I used "Practical Theory: Complete" and bought a spiral bound copy for $5.00 at a local music store. It teaches the very basics. The staff, clefs, time signatures, all the way to harmonizing melodies and chord progressions. Disclaimer: I have yet to produce a single decent song.
