Again, I agree double standards are annoying, you're free to have your white pride as far as I'm concerned, but can we also not ignore the societal contextual understanding of things. Race and sexuality issues have different dynamics, the toe stepping thing comes back into play as some liberals will get uppity about whites "taking the spotlight from minorities," but I'd say it's more complicated and even if it's largely one sided it's less one sided. But that aside, gay pride is typically associated with gay activism, "white pride" is typically associated with white supremacist groups/activism, not saying it's right or wrong just how it is.

Surely deleting off topic discussion (metaphorically re-railing the thread) is better than anchoring the thread or deleting it? That takes a derailment and turns it into a write-off. Locking has most of the same impact as deleting in practical terms (people can still read, but new people are unlikely to find content and are pre-censored by being unable to reply if they do), while anchoring just lets the thread sink to irrelevance while the derailed discussion continues.
Is there something I'm not taking into account?
