Nah, that was a short-lived fetish thing. ASB ran for a long time and had some serious plot going. It was more plot than sex by a long shot, and had some tough situations.

Yeah, you're at least right that it's not because of the human penises. I finished reading it, and my initial guess was completely invalidated by the presence of a knotting scene. Also there were some sheaths. Still looked weird.
