tl;dr tips for exercise when on a trip

Got a pretty long business trip coming up, and I pretty regularly have a week here or there anyway. Problem I always have is the hotels will often only have a treadmill/elliptical, and if I get lucky they'll have dumbbells or a cable machine. I usually supplement with calisthenics, but pushups, crunches/planks, and lunges/raises only get me so far, and dips between the couch and coffee table only do so much, as well as laying under the desk for some weak ass pull ups. Essentially, I miss having a barbell, and I don't use cables or dumbbells enough to really know how to maximize my effort with them. Tips? Routines? Mutual bitching?

If you have access to dbs, then what's the issue?

You can easily do db bench press, delt raises and french curls, basically covering every major muscle in the upper body.

vid related is a good alternative in case teh hotel doesn't have any equipment

True, big weights are fun. Do DB power snatches, ohp, bent press (look it up), farmer's walks (get the heaviest dbs), shrugs, russian twists with heavy db (use a decline board if they have one), front/side raises and holds, krok rows, rear delt flies, 1 arm push ups, 1 arm inverse rows (the weak ass pull ups you're talking about), 1 leg squats (with dbs if necessary), leg curls and sprints.

When it isn't heavy enough, speed it up, lower the rests, and go until you nearly puke.
