I have narrow shoulders, should I not work out my neck?

I have a wide jaw and my neck is small and long, Is this a worthy investment?

 No.125313

I too am having too much fun this weekend. You better soak it up while you can. School starts soon.

It doesn't matter. Say something interesting and get an interesting response. I'm not about to argue about samefagging theories nor am I married to the idea.

Work out both your neck and your shoulders. You should be working out your shoulders anyway. Volume/endurance and strength training in equal measure.

>I have narrow shoulders, should I not work out my neck?

Work it out.

>I have a wide jaw and my neck is small and long, Is this a worthy investment?

Yes. I do 4x12 neck workouts with my shotgun ammo box every other day using a leather belt. It's worth it, anon.

Posture helps with shoulder width, you're probably not small shoulder you're probably fucking hunched because you sit all day. Stretch your chest every work out, do reverse flies, and work your shoulders thrice weekly.

You don't need weights to train neck, head bang, or just deadlift and tense up your neck when you're coming up.

 No.125343

>>125330

deadlifts don't work your neck

 No.125356

>>125318

Not tremendously broad, no. That's why it's a valued trait, because most people don't have it. If your genetics don't let you have broad shoulders, don't worry about it. There's nothing you can do, so build a good-looking body within your means.

 No.125357

>>125343

Tensing/flexing muscles is all that working out does. If you deadlift and you end up tensing your neck a lot, it will make gains. You are way too small to really care about improving specific muscle groups though. Just do a routine that involves all the compound lifts with some other stuff, and once you get a nice body you can start working on particular spots. It's going to take a long time and there's no way around that.

 No.125371

I'm small too. I'm 5'11" and 150lbs. I have a long way to go and I'm in the same boat as you, which is why I know what you need.

do you have abs at 150lbs?

if yes, do you do direct ab work?

 No.125374

>>125373

Yes. I do work out abs, but I've always had them because I used to be a distance runner and I have good balance. Abs are mostly just from low bodyfat.

This. I look much more imposing with shoulders back after flyes. Flyes also help with flexibility of the shoulders/chest.

Japanon, I am a /fringefitlit/, and I can tell you that biology is alterable.

Expand your chest cavity from the inside out with your breath; when you can do that, feeling your miserly little tendons straining as they stretch to accommodate the large lung capacity and neuromuscular connection to your rib and general upper body muscles, you will notice that your collar will stretch as well. The real problem is the arms. You have to longitudinally stretch your arms out. Do dead hangs, pull from a door frame, use a broom or stick to do normal shoulder stretches, and learn to stretch in a meditative fashion in order to prevent tension that will only slow your progress.

I accidentally started doing this by cultivating the "Metal" element of TCM. The body constitution for Metal types consists of the largest shoulder width amongst all body types.

Good luck, and try the Metal thing as well.

Running develops abs in an all-round fashion. Sprints moreso of course…

>>125373

I'm 163 lbs 5'10 and I have abs. It's more about learning how to flex and hold your posture. If your posture requires ab strength -> have abs. If your posture requires no ab strength -> no abs.

If you posture yourself to always require muscle activation, you will look more ripped. Neuromuscular connections mother fucker, do you have them?
