Could somebody explain this movie for me a bit, please? I feel that there's a lot of symbolism and metaphors going on but I can't find any analyses that can help me to make my own judgement.

I've only seen Werckmeister Harmonies but the meaning of each scene was not always readily apparent. It may be shallow but there were parts of that film I enjoyed simply for the images themselves.
